Kindness Rewarded

Cindi Schwartz, Memorial R.N., PACU/OSC/Pain Center Director, was recently awarded a plaque by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for her commitment to aiding the families and spouses of deployed military officers. She was nominated for this award by Kris Geissler-Wright, R.N.

Last October, Cindi planned a surprise homecoming for Kris when her husband, Navy Chief Petty Officer Aaron Wright returned from a deployment to Bahrain that lasted over a year. Cindi planned for Kris’s husband to surprise her at work when he returned from deployment a month early.

For her efforts, Kris nominated Cindi, who was honored with the award by Dean Larson, Capt., USN (Ret.), of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. “While sometimes it wasn’t bearable at home, she made my life at work very easy,” Kris says, “Cindi helped me through issues I didn’t even anticipate I would have had.”
