Kohl’s Donates $60,000 for Healthy Living Program
Beacon Children’s Hospital will host its 30th Annual Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Family Reunion from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 at Memorial’s HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum. During the event, children who were once patients in the Beacon Hospital NICU will be honored.
At 2 p.m., Kohl’s Associates in Action volunteers will present Beacon Children’s Hospital with a check for $60,689. Since 2006, Kohl’s has donated more than $830,000 to Beacon Children’s Hospital. Funds will go to support Kohl’s Fit Feastival, an innovative program that teaches kids about fitness and nutrition. It is a one-of-a-kind outreach program available through HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum that provides community outreach to schools, church groups, fairs and festivals, company picnics, family reunions and other special events.
“We are so appreciative of the ongoing support that Kohl’s continues to offer to children and families throughout our community,” says Michaeleen Conlee, R.N., Executive Director of Women & Children’s Services. “With their continued commitment to children and well-being, we are able to provide exciting, educational programs that help kids embrace healthy lifestyles for a lifetime.”
