Memorial Honored for World Asthma Day Efforts

Memorial Hospital’s educational efforts for World Asthma Day were recently recognized on the Global Initiative for Asthma website. In fact, Memorial Hospital will be featured in the group’s slideshow that highlights health care facilities from around the world that held educational events on World Asthma Day.

Memorial Hospital Pulmonary Services, Memorial Children’s Hospital and HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum teamed up on May 5 to provide asthma education and free services. In addition to asthma information and the opportunity to speak with clinical staff, free services included peak flow testing (measures how well lungs are working), oximetry tests (measures amount of oxygen in the blood), free spacers, inhaler instruction and booklets aimed at all age groups.
