Updated visitor restrictions, masking guidelines at Beacon hospitals and offices
Starting today, visitor restrictions are now in place and masking is required when visiting patients at our Beacon hospitals due to the increase of respiratory illness in our community. What this means:
• Two masked visitors per patient at a time.
• Masks are required for all hospital visitors when interacting with hospitalized patients and in other hospital areas with our most vulnerable patients.
Masks remain optional at our Beacon Medical Group locations, outpatient care offices and clinics, business offices and fitness centers, but masks should be worn if requested by a patient or staff member.
Masks will be provided at Beacon locations. Thank you for your support and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all of our patients to receive care and to protect each other.
Dr. Michelle Bache, Vice President of Medical Affairs, Elkhart General Hospital, describes recent trends at our hospitals and in our community in the video below. We hope you will take a few minutes to learn more about why these change are necessary with the recent increase in respiratory illnesses, including flu, COVID and RSV.
