Celebrating 10 Years of MedFlight

If you had a sick or injured loved one who was in need of being transported quickly with the highest level of medical support, you would want Memorial MedFlight. For the last 10 years, MedFlight has been an invaluable resource to those in our region needing highly trained critical care transport.

“In those situations where minutes can mean the difference for a good patient outcome, MedFlight extends Memorial’s trauma and critical care capabilities to a much wider community and provides the safe, expert and rapid transport needed to help make that difference a reality. Providing this service is a privilege and responsibility to which everyone on the MedFlight team is committed 24/7, 100 percent,” says Keith Sherry, MD, MedFlight Medical Director.

MedFlight, the only medical flight service in Michiana and based at the South Bend Regional Airport, began operations in 2006. We are grateful to the MedFlight staff for the dedicated air medical service it provides in transporting patients to Memorial Hospital and to other regional hospitals in Indiana as well as hospitals in Michigan and Illinois.

The City of South Bend presented a proclamation to MedFlight for its ongoing commitment to the community.
