Department Spotlight: Memorial Health Foundation
The Health Foundation has six associates, with six rescue dogs and nine children, including a future doctor, news anchor, NHL hockey player and twins.
Staff have traveled all over the world, but their favorite team haunts are here at home: Artisan, Fiddler’s Hearth and Cambodian Thai.
The Health Foundation is often confused with the South Bend Medical Foundation, and they can often be found walking blood donors to the SBMF.
They have their own Board of Directors, as well as a Cabinet, made up of community leaders from across our region.
Though not a travel agency, the Health Foundation has conducted hundreds of tours of Beacon’s hospitals.
Though not a bank, the Health Foundation helps to fund many of our system’s top priorities, including Beacon’s Employee Assistance Fund, Nursing Scholarships, Palliative Care, Memorial Children’s Hospital and Chaplaincy.
In the past two years, the Health Foundation raised more than $10 million toward the Children’s Hospital Building Project. The Health Foundation describes each member of the team as FAMILY. Congratulations to the Health Foundation on a growingly successful fundraising effort: Shine: the Campaign for Memorial Children’s Hospital.
