Think You Can Dance?
Beacon Supports Center for the Homeless
Beacon Health System’s Danielle Gagliano, Chief Strategy Officer, will participate in the annual Dancing with Our Stars Miracle Auction, supporting South Bend’s Center for the Homeless, on April 4. Danielle will be joined by other influential community members in this event that raises money for programs, agencies and people to help break the cycle of homelessness.
Beacon Medical Group’s Central Neighborhood Health Center has been doing its part to address health concerns among the underserved by operating a health clinic inside the Center for the Homeless. The dedicated team of physicians and staff, including Brandon Zabukovic, M.D., FAAFP, Janel Charlton, M.D., Mary Hope Griffin, M.D., and LuAnn Tracey, MSN, R.N., NP-C, offer a wide variety of services, including physical exams for adults and children, health screenings, surgical procedures and wellness education. Hundreds of people are served every
year at the Central Neighborhood Health Center, giving hope and providing healing to people who need it most.
“It has been a pleasure to see patients who come to the Center at rock bottom, have them get straightened out in all aspects and then continue to come to the office as “normal” patients who are no longer homeless,” says Dr. Zabukovic.
No one knows this better than Steve Camilleri, executive director of Center for the Homeless, who is fond of the strong partnership between the Center and Beacon Medical Group.
“This partnership is unique and incredibly important to help serve the most vulnerable in our community,” says Steve. “I am convinced that our community is better because of Beacon and their deep commitment to serve the under-resourced and vulnerable among us.”
