Welcome to Beacon Children’s Hospital

New name better reflects regional reach and services

With the construction of the new Children’s Hospital complete, and with the backing of the Board of Directors, Beacon has approved its name change from Memorial Children’s Hospital to Beacon Children’s Hospital.

“We know our customers not only want the best care for our children and families, but they also expect a system of care with easy access and convenience,” said Phil Newbold, Chief Executive Officer of Beacon Health System. “This name change better reflects the regional reach and services available here at Beacon Health System.”

Children receiving care at Beacon Children’s Hospital have access to Beacon’s entire system of care. Should a child need additional services, Beacon’s clinical teams are connected with physicians across the country and will guide families to the care their child needs.

According to Newbold, “Memorial’s history in providing pediatric care, our talented physicians and clinical teams, and people in our region made this possible. Beacon Children’s Hospital belongs to our entire regional community. It also better positions the hospital to grow and serve pediatric needs for years to come.”

The new facility will include a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and one of the most advanced Newborn Intensive Care Units in the nation, allowing moms to stay in the same room as their NICU babies no matter how sick or premature baby may be. The first patients will receive care in the new space in May.
