Overview

Cholangiocarcinoma also is called bile duct cancer. It starts as a growth of cells in the bile ducts. Bile ducts are the slender tubes that carry the digestive fluid bile through the liver. Cholangiocarcinoma happens most often in adults over 50.

Symptoms

Symptoms include yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes, called jaundice. Other symptoms include intensely itchy skin, white-colored stools and feeling very tired.

Treatment

Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.
