Breast Health: Understanding Screening Recommendations And Management Of High-Risk Breast Lesions
Presented By: Jamie O’Rear, MD – General Surgery, Beacon Health System
Dr. Jamie O’Rear is a general surgeon with BMG Surgical Services Elkhart. Within general surgery, she focuses on breast surgery for both breast cancer and benign conditions. She loves general surgery because the ability to treat patients with a wide range of conditions –anything from breast cancer to appendicitis and trauma. When it comes to her philosophy for practicing medicine, Jamie believes in treating each patient like a member of her own family. “Everyone has a unique story,” she says. “I believe it’s important to tailor treatment plans with each individual so they can make informed decisions about their own health and be comfortable with and confident in their care.” Breast cancer is something that has personally affected Dr. O’Rear’s family, and as a granddaughter, daughter, and mom of three, she has a special passion for treating women on their journey to achieve their best health.
