Dr. Tyrrell is a distinguished Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist at the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center (IHTC). Their educational background includes an MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School and an MA.Ed from The Ohio State University. Dr. Tyrrell completed his Pediatric Residency at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond and a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant Fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Tyrrell holds certifications from the American Board of Pediatrics in both general pediatrics and hematology-oncology, along with medical licenses in Indiana and Ohio. Dr. Tyrrell is actively involved in various medical societies and has received accolades such as the Emily Gardner Chief Resident Award from the Children’s Hospital of Richmond.
With a focus on conditions like Sickle Cell Disease, Thalassemia, and Red blood cell membrane disorders, Dr. Tyrrell’s expertise extends to medical education as well. They are affiliated with several prestigious hospitals including Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and Indiana University Health Riley Children’s Hospital.
