Childbirth Unit
Our specialized Childbirth Unit (CBU) is designed to provide a comfortable and relaxing birthing experience. Afterwards, our Mother/Baby Unit is awaiting your arrival to provide soothing postpartum care. We are prepared for emergencies and high-risk pregnancies at our Special Care Obstetrics Unit.
Collectively, our nursing staff has nearly 1,000 years of experience. We offer exceptional bedside labor support, customized to your personal birth plan.
Memorial Childbirth Center is a regional referral center for northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan, serving 15 hospitals in 11 counties. Because we care for our area’s most high-risk pregnancies and deliveries, our nurses have specialized training and certifications. All Childbirth Unit nurses are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Obstetrics (ACLS OB) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Additionally, all eligible CBU nursing staff are certified in their specialty, Inpatient Obstetrics.
Everything we do is offered with your best outcome in mind. That’s why we put special emphasis on the first few hours after birth. Health experts agree that skin-to-skin contact immediately after delivery is best for mother and baby.
