Hearts of Gold Mall Walk Does it Again!
For the third year in a row, the Hearts of Gold Mall Walk, benefiting Memorial Children’s Hospital, surpassed its goal! Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, volunteered or contributed in any way to this amazing community fundraiser. The 2014 mall walk raised $70,000 for Northern Indiana’s only designated children’s hospital. In fact, in just three years, the mall walk has raised more than $200,000. Great job in particular to Memorial Children’s Hospital’s NICU Small Feet of Wonder, which raised the most at a whopping $7,863.
Donations collected in the first year helped purchase the new Pediatric Ambulance. Money raised last year and in 2014 are supporting efforts to expand the Child Life program.
“This year’s event was again outstanding, and it was amazing to see the amount of people who came despite the snowstorm,” says Michaeleen Conlee, Director of Women’s and Children’s Services. “Year after year participants tell me how much they love this event for its family focus, fun activities and fundraising to benefit Memorial Children’s Hospital.”
