Outstanding patient care is what we’re all about at Beacon. You can see this first hand on Elkhart General’s Total Joint Unit, which recently celebrated more than a year without a patient falling on its unit! This amazing accomplishment was thanks in large part to the hard work of the unit’s Falls Champion Team, a group that meets every other month to discuss patient falls and current processes.
In addition to reviewing and updating safety protocols in line with best practices, tracking patient falls and continually communicating across the caregiver team, the staff ensures the highest level of care is provided to patients recovering from surgery or an illness.
“We are blessed to have such a compassionate and dedicated staff who go above and beyond to care to make this the safest place for our patients,” says Brenda Pressler, R.N., BSN, CMSRN Medical Unit Nurse Educator.
