Pet Photo Contest; Meet “Beacon”
Just two days after Beacon was announced publicly as the name of the health system in June 2012, Paula Barth knew there was only one name for her new puppy—Beacon.
“I was thinking of a name for him and I thought I would name him after the health system,” says Paula, patient care manager in Memorial’s Mother Baby Unit. Beacon turns out to be the right name for this bichon cockapoo mix.
“He brings joy, love and comfort to people, so the name Beacon makes perfect sense.”
Wherever the 15-pound canine goes, including trips to Memorial Hospital with Paula when she quarterly presents the DAISY Award to top nurses, so goes the fourlegged Beacon.
“He’s the sweetest dog. Everywhere he goes, Beacon makes people happy.”
