Get Savvy with Medical Flex Spending
Associates have until March 15, 2015, to use their 2014 medical flexible spending account contributions. Eligible medical expenses incurred from January 1, 2014, through March 15, 2015, can be reimbursed under the 2014 medical flex spending plan. Any remaining funds will be forfeited after March 15.
If you have a remaining medical flex account balance from 2014 that carries over to 2015, and you also elected to have a medical flex account in 2015, your remaining 2014 balance should be used first in 2015. Once your carryover balance is exhausted, use your new 2015 balance. Please note that your remaining 2014 balance will not be available on your flex debit card. To access your remaining 2014 medical flex balance in 2015, you will need to file a manual reimbursement form with Meritain. Only your 2015 medical flexible spending account balance will be available on your debit card after January 1, 2015.
If you participated in the flex plan in 2014 and you already have a flex debit card, you will NOT receive a new card. Your 2015 election will be loaded onto your current flex debit card. For medical flex accounts, the entire 2015 balance will be available to you on January 1, 2015. If you are new to the flex plan in 2015, you will receive your flex debit card prior to January 1, 2015.
