Flower Power!
The DAISY Award program recently took root and is blooming beautifully at Elkhart General Hospital.
“We were aware of the program at Memorial and in other area hospitals and wanted to recognize our nurses for the excellent, compassionate care provided every day for our patients, our guests and each other,” explains Johna Radford, R.N., BSN, Staffing Manager. Johna chairs the Work, Life Quality Council, the driving force in bringing the DAISY Award to Elkhart General.
The colorful and inviting DAISY cart gives associates and visitors the opportunity to nominate amazing nurses at Elkhart General. Created by Johna and her friends Tony Jones and Mark and Denise Lockwood, the cart is also used to deliver the award to the recipients along with celebratory cinnamon rolls for the recipients’ units and, of course, daisies for the awardees.
