ND Students Dance and Shave Their Way to Support Memorial Children’s Hospital
Thank you to the Notre Dame Sophomore Class Council and organizers of the Bald & the Beautiful for their leadership and generosity by holding fundraisers in support of the thousands of children treated every year at Memorial Children’s Hospital.
On April 10, the University of Notre Dame Sophomore Class Council hosted the first-ever Notre Dame Dance-A-Thon that raised about $9,000 for Memorial Children’s Hospital. As part of the annual Bald & the Beautiful April 15-17, 219 members of the Notre Dame community shaved their heads in support of those battling pediatric cancer, while 135 received hair extensions and 150 donated their hair to make a wig for a child who has lost their own hair.
Through the kindness of Notre Dame students, parents, alumni and friends, The Bald & The Beautiful collected more than $20,000. The event has raised nearly $45,000 for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit at Memorial Children’s Hospital.
