UPDATE: DAISY Award Recipients

Beacon Health System celebrates the amazing work of our nurses through the DAISY Award. It is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day.
The following criteria is met by nominees:
-Comforting, calm, and communicative
-Exhibits clinical expertise
-Significantly made a difference in a patient’s life
-Provides compassionate nursing care
-Extraordinary skill and kindness
-Makes patient feel secure and confident in the care thry receive
-Listens with his or her heart

Below is a list of 2nd quarter DAISY Award recipients at Elkhart General and Memorial Hospital, as well as information about how to nominate nurses.

Elkhart General Nomination Process:

Patients, visitors, nurses, physicians and associates may nominate a deserving nurse. Please include the person would like to nominate and from which unit he or she works, unit/dept., your name, phone, email and whether you are an R.N., patient, family, visitor, physician or volunteer. Please describe a situation involving the nurse you are nominating that clearly demonstrates he or she meets the criteria for the DAISY Award.

Submit nomination information to Cindy Perry by emailing CPerry@beaconhealthsystem.org. If you have questions, call Cindy at 574.523.3257. Nominations are accepted year-round. There are 12 DAISY Award recipients honored each year, three per quarter.
