As a fun, new way to launch this year’s Beacon United Way Campaign, associates built the Beacon Buoy, a cardboard boat that competed against handmade vessels from other Elkhart County organizations in Elkhart on August 28.

More fun is planned as part of the United Way Campaign, including a gift basket auction, duck pond and, what should be the messiest event of all – a pie throw.

The Beacon United Way Campaign, which runs from Sept. 21 through Oct. 2, has a goal of $359,000. You can donate through a paper pledge form or online via a portal https://c20.npasonline.org/epledge/crm/Start.jsp?accountNumber=316729

During the campaign, all donors who make a pledge will be entered into a drawing. Each week, 20 winners will be chosen at random to receive $20 gift cards. On the final day of the campaign, one grand prize winner will receive a $500 gift card.
