The Elkhart County 4H Fair is more than just something for families to do in the summer – it’s an annual tradition. And the same holds true for Elkhart General nurses who have made it a tradition to give back to the community at the fair.
Nurses filled the Swine House and purchased four pigs at the swine auction, which were then donated to Feed to Seed, a program run through Church Community Services of Elkhart County to help in the fight against hunger in our community. This is the third year Elkhart General nurses have purchased livestock for Feed to Seed at the Elkhart County 4H Fair.
“I wanted to support our kids in Elkhart County, our community at large and also build our nursing leadership team by being at the fair together representing Elkhart General,” says Karra Heggen, Vice President of Nursing at Elkhart General.
