To our Hearts of Gold Families and Supporters

Thank you for your magnificent support of and participation in Memorial Children’s Annual Hearts of Gold Walk. In the past four years, Hearts supporters have helped fund a new pediatric ambulance (a rolling intensive care unit) for Memorial’s Pediatric Emergency Transport Team (PETs). In addition, our Child Life Program has expanded into Memorial’s Emergency Department, creating distraction and moments of joy for sick and injured children. In response to conversations with families and staff and to best honor our families and the children we love, we have decided to change and expand upon Hearts of Gold.

We are pleased to share with you that Hearts will now join with the Sunburst Family Fun Walk and weekend festivities, June 3-4, 2016. As well, we are looking into an additional opportunity, about which many of you have expressed great excitement: joining with the University of Notre Dame Dance Marathon, “Shake Down the THONder.” Both weekends offer an even greater opportunity for fellowship, celebrating our children, families and Children’s Hospital staff.

As we work through the details of Hearts of Gold, please know that the spirit of giving and friendship will remain and grow into an even greater community celebration of love, support and hope.

On behalf of our community’s smallest but most mighty hearts, thank you for your support of Hearts of Gold. We look forward to this event, which has become the heartbeat of the greater Memorial Children’s community, growing bigger and stronger.
