Department Spotlight: Beacon Medical Group Vascular Interventional Radiology

BMG-IR

Front Row: Molly Hinz, Kevin Small, MD, and Janelle Shirley Back Row: Cindy Milburn, Sheila Chandler and Laura Beach

Beacon Health System would not be a world-class community-owned health system without the strength of its remarkable interventional radiology program – Beacon Medical Group Vascular Interventional Radiology.

Rather than using traditional surgical methods, interventional radiologists use X-rays, ultrasound, MRI, CTs and other imaging to navigate small instruments, like catheters, through blood vessels and organs to treat a variety of diseases, including vascular disease, stroke, uterine fibroids and cancer.

Beacon Medical Group Vascular Interventional Radiology offers the most comprehensive knowledge of the least invasive treatments available coupled with diagnostic and clinical experience. Examples of treatments include angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, embolization, radiofrequency ablation and biopsies. These treatments can offer fewer complications, less pain and a quicker recovery.

Located inside Memorial Hospital, the medical team and support staff at Beacon Medical Group Vascular Interventional Radiology provides the highest quality care and services using state-of-the-art technologies.
