Dr. Aslam, a Rockin’ Doc at Memorial

Congratulations to Shakil Aslam, MD, Beacon Medical Group Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists South Bend, Memorial Hospital’s Rockin’ Doc for December!

Dr. Aslam is well-known for taking exceptional care of patients and staff in his work in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Memorial Hospital.

“Dr. Aslam makes sure what is best for the patient is always done,” explains a staff member. Professional, kind, calming and compassionate, Dr. Aslam takes the time to talk with patients and their families so they understand the procedures.

“Dr. Aslam always greets his patients and their families with a smile,” says another staff member. “If the patient has any special needs or concerns, he will let the Cath Lab staff know so the patient has the best experience.”
A true team player, he drapes, preps and transports patients in the unit. “He is extremely helpful at getting everything done.”

Staff members especially welcome Dr. Aslam’s attendance at staff meetings as he shares helpful insights and listens to the group’s input on patient care. “He really appreciates the staff and often thanks us for a job well done.”

Approachable and friendly, Dr. Aslam helps create a positive work environment. “Anytime I have questions, he never makes me feel as if I’m bothering him,” explains one staff member. “He is a great instructor and leader,” says another.
