Presenting Beacon’s biggest Cubs fans

cubs-trophy

We found them … Beacon’s biggest Cubs fans.

After pouring over dozens of essays submitted to our contest, we want to congratulate our winners.

These are the truest of true fans. The most loyal of loyal fans.

They shared memories of hopes and dreams being dashed year after year — until this year, the year that ended the 108-year drought.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to tell us about their special memories and feelings for their favorite Major League baseball team. And to those who went the extra mile and added photos of basement walls adorned with Cubs memorabilia, Christmas trees decked out with Cubs ornaments and quilts made from Cubs T-shirts.

Our winners will gather around the Cubs World Series trophy for a group photo to be taken between 9 and 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the South Bend Cubs Performance Center, located at 525 S. Lafayette Blvd.

Here are our winners:

Crystal Morton, Site Biller, Beacon Medical Group, LaPorte

Thanks again to everyone who participated. Go Cubs!
