March Associates of the Month
An oncology nurse navigator. An OR assistant. A human resources coordinator. A personal care attendant. An electrophysiology clinic coordinator.
These are the roles of our March Associates of the Month.
These five associates are top notch, as you will read below. Be sure and congratulate Amy, Janice, Cristy, Erin and Cecilia when you see them around our hospital sites!
Oncology Nurse Navigator
Memorial Cancer Center
Memorial Hospital “Amy has consistently given her all to each and every one of the patients with whom she comes in contact. She is one of the most compassionate individuals I have ever known. She is a wonderful representation of what is best in the Beacon medical system and specifically the Memorial Hospital oncology program. She is a living example of ‘above and beyond’ and I can think of no one more deserving than Amy Tinlin for associate of the month.”
Janice Leighton
OR Assistant
Surgery
Elkhart General Hospital
“Janice goes out of her way to do extra tasks, she is always busy and finding ways to improve our department. She is always kind to patients and to coworkers, she constantly provides an excellent experience for our patients. She works so hard and is flexible, she often stays over to help when it’s a rough day and will come in early if things need set up in advance for a busy day. We love her and thank her for all she does. She really deserves to be employee of the month at Elkhart General Hospital.”
Cristy Green
Electrophysiology Clinic Coordinator
Memorial Cardiovascular
Beacon Medical Group
“Cristy consistently goes above and beyond on a daily basis. She is positive when times get hard, she is compassionate with staff and patients, she takes pride in her job and she always leads by example. She is trustworthy and committed. She definitely displays the qualities that Beacon strives to achieve.”
Erin Odiorne
Coordinator, Leave of Absence
Human Resources
Beacon Health System
“Erin has to work with associates that many times are going through a hard time and need to figure out how to preserve their position while dealing with family issues. She has a way of helping them and making the missed time off the least of their worries. She will go above and beyond for them… She is truly a Beacon.”
Cecilia Hipskind
Personal Care Attendant
Beacon Health Ventures
“Cecilia has been with Compassionate Caregivers as a Personal Care Attendant for over four years. From the day that she started, Cecilia has been an excellent associate and has represented our organization in a professional and caring manner. We have received many calls from clients stating that she is one of a kind and she is consistently requested after she has visited a client just one time. She is able to provide care to our very diverse clientele and has the ability to fit in at any home she goes to. Among her many talents, she has a knack for making everyone feel comfortable around her. She can hold a conversation with anyone and is very client satisfaction driven. Cecelia is also dependable and devoted. She changes her personal schedule and appointments at the drop of a hat to be there for her clients. Cecilia picks up additional shifts when we need her to without question. She has provided relief to other Personal Care Attendants on short notice, left her home in the middle of the night to relieve an ill associate at a client’s home, and covered countless shifts — all without complaint and with a smile on her face. Her work ethic is top notch and bar none. Any day of the week, or weekend for that matter, and any hour of the day, Cecelia has been there when we need her. When we asked her to assist us with our After Hours On Call every other weekend, she accepted without hesitation. She works every weekend, either providing care to the client in their home or providing assistance to clients and associates over the phone. Her work ethic is incredible. She is well deserving of this honor.”
