Sue ‘exemplifies what we stand for’
Sue Wood, executive assistant at Beacon Health System, has been named Administrative Assistant of the Year by the Indiana Hospital Association. Wood was recently honored at the fourth annual IHA Administrative Professionals Conference held in Indianapolis.
Sue’s nominators, Kreg Gruber, Beacon’s Chief Operating Officer, and Lori Turner, Chief Marketing, Innovation & Customer Experience Officer, attended the conference to surprise and share their excitement with Sue.
The IHA Administrative Professional Excellence Award was established to recognize outstanding support staff service and to help identify Hoosier role models who keep hospital organizations functioning efficiently.
“There’s nothing I wouldn’t trust her with, nothing,” Gruber said. “She exemplifies what we stand for. I can’t thank her enough.”
Turner echoed Gruber’s praises for Sue and what she adds to Beacon Health System every day.
“I think we are a better group and a better team because of what she brings to our setting,” Turner said.
IHA officials said they received a record number of strong nominations this year, and the selection committee was challenged to determine the most deserving candidate who best exemplifies the characteristics of Mikell Brown, the former IHA administrative assistant for whom the award was established.
Congratulations, Sue Wood!
