Beacon associates soak up the sun during eclipse

Whether the NASA live stream airing on the big screen, the special songs playing overhead, or the cookies lured associates into the auditorium, hundreds of Beacon associates dropped by the Eclipse Screening Party at Memorial Hospital between noon and 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The solar event of the century connected colleagues during work breaks and after shifts as we gathered to watch a the cosmic spectacle taking place from coast to coast. Most cleared out of the auditorium around 2:15 p.m. as associates ran up to parking garage rooftops or stood outside the perimeter of the hospital to look through protective eclipse glasses or cardboard boxes they purchased or prepared to watch the eclipse. A similar celebration took place Monday at Elkhart General Hospital. Please send us your pictures and we’ll add them to the gallery below.
