Beacon rises to #20 of 100 Healthiest Employers
Great job, Beacon! For the second year in a row, Beacon was named as a Healthiest 100 Workplace in America, an awards program presented by Springbuk®. In fact, we’ve moved up the list to No. 20; last year, we debuted at No. 34.
Beacon also was named as the Overall Category Winner for Best ROI (Return on Investment) as well as the winner for Healthcare Costs and Healthcare Outcomes. These awards celebrated Beacon’s demonstration of return on investment for our LiGHT program. Here are some details:
Beacon’s medical claims cost (per employee per year) is 20% less than the National Healthcare Market Benchmark measure. This indicates that our associates are healthier compared to others nationally! Overall, the investment that Beacon makes in the health promotion programs offered to associates and their families helps save $5.50 for every one dollar spent.

Here are just some of the positive achievements made by LiGHT participants since the program began:
- Blood pressure: 41% who were high-risk reduced their risk to medium or low
- Cholesterol: 44% who were high-risk reduced their risk to medium or low
- Smoking: 28% who were high-risk reduced their risk to medium or low
- Fasting blood sugar: 36% who were high-risk reduced their risk to medium or low
- Body Mass Index: 14% who were high-risk reduced their risk to medium or low
- All biometric screening tests: 38% showed an overall improvement
