Ornament sales will benefit kids
Two children who received treatment at Beacon Children’s Hospital colored pictures that could decorate your Christmas tree.
Carmen, age 9, and Dania, age 14, made pictures of Santa and a snowman during their stay. Each of the drawings has been placed on limited edition ornaments that are now available for purchase for $9.99 in the Elkhart General and Memorial gift shops.
All proceeds from the ornament sale will go to Beacon Children’s Hospital.
“Art has the ability to be used as a positive tool in so many different ways. By creating their own unique ornaments, these patients have shared their creativity not only with me, but also with the rest of the hospital, health system and community,” said Sarah Tyler, art therapist.
“While the process of creating this artwork helped to normalize and enhance their own experience of being in the hospital, when the ornaments are sold they will provide an opportunity to benefit so many more individuals at the Children’s Hospital in the future.”
