A note from Carl

In a note to Elkhart associates late last week, Carl Risk, President of Elkhart General Hospital, first and foremost alerted associates and providers that the Joint Commission had completed its work.

But he also passed along the very positive sentiments he received from surveyors about Elkhart General and the dedicated health care team.

We thought we would let ALL Beacon Health System associates know about Elkhart’s accomplishment so we can recognize our teammates for a job well done!

Elkhart General Hospital associates and providers, 

The Joint Commission has left the building.

I would like to thank you for making this a positive survey. I realize that we have all spent a tremendous amount of time to prepare for the survey this week and it showed. 

In the exit interview, the surveyors could not say enough about the positive experience they had at Elkhart General Hospital. They were very impressed with the great care we provide and how nice, engaging, and receptive associates and physicians were throughout the week.

They also commented numerous times about the cleanliness of our facility and how well it is maintained. 

I think one of the highest compliments we received was when a surveyor stated she would not hesitate to bring a loved one to Elkhart General Hospital for care.

While we certainly have a number of items to work on, I am leaving this afternoon with a great deal of pride and I certainly hope each of you are doing the same.  I am honored to work beside you to serve our community.
