Elkhart CVOR team receives trust award

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team at Elkhart General Hospital received the Beacon Value Award for trust. Angie Lucas, Director of Patient Care Services, Open Heart, OR, Elkhart General President Carl Risk, and Walter Halloran, MD., BMG Cardiothorasic Surgery, are shown in the photo.

“They were ready to start a scheduled procedure when a patient was brought into the Emergency Department with a serious, life-threatening condition that required immediate surgery. They acted quickly and with tremendous precision moving forward with the emergent case that ultimately saved that patient’s life. Then they got back to their patient with the schedule procedure, all without missing a beat,” Risk said.

“We are very fortunate to have such a talented CVOR team that we can trust to always put every patient at the center.”
