Attend ‘Strike Out Stroke’ this month
In recognition of Stroke Awareness Month, Beacon Health System and the South Bend Cubs are teaming up to Strike Out Stroke during the Friday, May 25, game against the West Michigan Whitecaps. A local stroke survivor will throw out a ceremonial first pitch at the start of the 7:35 p.m. game.
Fans at the game can receive a blood pressure check and information about the signs of stroke, the importance of calling 9-1-1 if you suspect a stroke, and ways to reduce your chances of having one. Guests may enter for a chance to win some great prizes, too.

1. Stroke is a brain attack, cutting off vital blood flow and oxygen to the brain.
2. Stroke can happen to anyone at any time.

4. There are nearly 7 million stroke survivors in the U.S. and it is the 5th leading cause of death in the U.S.
