SB Cubs welcomes Beacon’s stroke team Friday to help ‘Strike Out Stroke’

In recognition of Stroke Awareness Month, Beacon Health System and the South Bend Cubs are teaming up to Strike Out Stroke during the Friday, May 17, game against the Dayton Dragons.

A local stroke survivor will throw out a ceremonial first pitch at the start of the 7:35 p.m. game.

Fans at the game can receive a blood pressure check and information about the signs of stroke, the importance of calling 9-1-1 if a stroke is suspected, and learn ways to reduce the chances of having a stroke. Guests may also enter a drawing for a chance to win prizes.

Beacon Health System’s Stroke Team experts will be available during the game to help community members learn what they can do to Strike Out Stroke.
