Remembering Arthur J. Decio and his contributions to Elkhart General Hospital
The team at Beacon Health would like to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and the people in our communities who were touched by the life of Arthur J. Decio, as we have been.
Arthur “Art” was a legend in this community. His impact will live on for generations to come, thanks to his benevolence and generous support of countless organizations, including Beacon Health System.
Art was proud to tell people about his birth at Elkhart General Hospital. He would go on to make a name for himself in the RV industry and, in 1966, he would establish the hospital’s first foundation which still exists today in a unified Beacon Health Foundation.
His commitment to the health of our patients never wavered. And in 2016, the largest expansion in Elkhart General Hospital’s history, an $83 million, 165,000-square-foot surgical center was dedicated in his honor.
Thank you, Art, for the countless ways you impacted each and every one of us. We recognize we are but one grain of sand in all you have done and we were blessed to call you one of our own.
