Paragon Clinics marks a decade of serving St. Joseph County employees and their families
Paragon Clinics has reached its 10-year anniversary of partnering with St. Joseph County and offering thousands of employees and their families access to high-quality, personalized and convenient medical care from Beacon Health System.
Paragon began offering onsite primary care clinics and wellness solutions for the workplace in 2011. Worksite clinic services are provided at no cost to the patient, and include exams, annual checkups, procedures, consults, case management, chronic disease management and wellness coaching, among other services.
“We’ve really become an extension of St. Joseph County,” said Glenda Frederick, Paragon Clinics Manager of Operations. “We have become a part of the county operations as a whole and are so proud to be considered a part of their team.”
By offering onsite primary care clinics and wellness solutions for employees and their families directly in the workplace, Paragon is reducing costs for employers and making care more convenient for patients.
“Our Paragon employee health clinic is one of the best things St. Joseph County has ever done for its employees,” said Andy Kostielney, President of the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners. “Not only does this clinic allow us to provide a basic level of health care for our employees and their families, but it also provides a wellness focus that has resulted in positive changes in the quality of life that our employees lead.”
Kostielney has overseen the county’s collaboration with Paragon since 2011.
“We value our partnership,” he added, “because it has given us the opportunity to expand our offerings and improve the quality of care we provide for our associates.”
Paragon Clinics, which currently operates two locations, also provides onsite medical care at no cost to employees at the St. Joseph County Airport Authority, St. Joseph County Solid Waste Management District and TRANSPO.
“We get the opportunity to care for people who may not otherwise have a primary care provider,” says Dr. Alberta Henderson, Paragon Clinics Medical Director. She has served as a family physician with Paragon since its inception. “In addition to helping people through minor ailments, we also offer individualized health coaching because we want people to live their very best life.”
Dr. Henderson and the Paragon Clinics team have made their worksite locations the ‘medical home’ for many St. Joseph County employees and their families, said Troy Scott, Vice President of Gallagher Insurance and the health benefits consultant with St. Joseph County.
“Paragon Clinics provides a healthcare experience that drives engagement with employees and their families,” Scott said. “The clinical team applies a preventative care approach that helps create and maintain better medical outcomes that directly lowers the county’s health plan costs. Paragon Clinics has played a huge role in health care cost containment for our county.”
