Memorial Hospital cardiovascular team celebrates TAVR achievement
Congratulations to Memorial Hospital’s cardiovascular team for earning certification from the American College of Cardiology for its Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program.
TAVR may help those with severe aortic stenosis, a condition that decreases blood flow from the heart out into the body. The minimally invasive procedure, which does not require open heart surgery, involves placing a new valve in the aortic valve through a tiny incision in the leg or between the ribs or chest. Memorial established its TAVR program in September 2017 and has served over 240 individuals in our community.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate our cardiovascular program on their successful certification journey,” said Rachel Savoie, MSL, BSN, RN, Memorial Vice President of Operations. “They deserve this recognition for the dedication and passion they provide on a daily basis to our community.”
