Luis’ story: A bit of a miracle for this strong and happy boy
When Luis was nine years old, he started vomiting in the night and was very dizzy. He had no balance when he walked, his mom shares. Then they got the bad news that he had a cancerous tumor. “It was the worst day of my life,” she says. Luis, one of four kids, was happy and very outgoing and watching him face such news was difficult for the family. But, the doctors had hope. Within six weeks of surgery, radiation and chemo, the cancer was gone. Luis was clean. “Everyone at Beacon was so nice. Everyone took care of Luis and me,” his mom recalls. “Dr. Fulkerson is a great guy. He explained everything to us. He was always positive and always smiling,” his mother recalls. “Luis is a very happy boy and is so, so, so strong.”
