Surgical expertise
Dr. Adam Hauch is enthusiastic about helping people. In cosmetic surgery, the goal is to restore both form and function.
“[We give] patients an aesthetic result that erases the scars left by illness, trauma and aging,” he says.
While Dr. Hauch trained in New Orleans, he welcomed the chance to return to his hometown, South Bend, to practice aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. He works alongside surgeons who share his commitment to care for their local community.
As a surgeon, Dr. Hauch says creative reconstructive surgery appealed to him because of the nearly instantaneous results that patients experience. He began his training in general surgery and studied advanced techniques, completing fellowships as follows:
- Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center (New Orleans): fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery
- Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center (New Orleans): The Aesthetic Society Endorsed fellowship in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
- University of California, San Diego School of Medicine (UCSD): Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery residency
- Tulane University School of Medicine (New Orleans): General surgery residency
- Board certified with the American Board of Surgery
Dr. Hauch is one of the few plastic surgeons in the country to pursue further training in multiple advanced surgical fellowships beyond plastic surgery residency. While in San Diego, he worked closely with a leading expert in craniofacial and aesthetic surgery as well as regenerative medicine, Dr. Steven Cohen. Following his plastic surgery residency, he completed a fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at LSU under another leading expert, Dr. Kamran Khoobehi. There are fewer than 40 spots throughout the country each year in this highly competitive fellowship endorsed by The Aesthetic Society. It is unique in that it allows for the study of advanced aesthetic surgery principles beyond the scope of most programs.
Following his Aesthetic Surgery fellowship, Dr. Hauch continued his advanced training with a Reconstructive Microsurgery Fellowship at LSU, which allowed him to train with world-renowned and pioneering microsurgeons such as Dr. Robert Allen Sr. and Dr. Hugo St. Hilaire.
